HOT PRESS! The Village Hall at Down Ampney, Cirencester, Glos UK was completely burnt during the night of 9/10 August 2007. This hall is normally the venue for our Rifle Club Presentation evenings. Please stay tuned to this page for notification of a new venue for this event.
The League was founded in Cirencester in 1932 and apart from the period of the 1939-45 World War has been shooting in the district ever since - ten years in the Activities Room at the previous Sports Centre and the last 20 years our shooting has been successfully held at the Corn Hall, Cirencester.
We were very concerned when our landlord, the Cotswold District
Council were in discussion with Wildmoor regarding the sell-off.
However, in the past one and a half years we assumed, and were
not told otherwise, that on the completion of the Hall refurbishment,
our shooting activity would continue there.
Unfortunately, at a recent meeting with Wildmoor we were informed
that our continued use of the Corn Hall would not be allowed and
after the one and a half years delay I have also been informed
by Cotswold District Council that there is no legal requirement
by Wildmoor to allow us the future use of the Corn Hall.

We are pleased to advise our members that an agreement has been reached between your Committee and the New Social & Services Club at Chesterton Lane in Cirencester Glos for our League to commence in 2007/2008. All fixtures start at 7.30pm on Monday evenings commencing Monday 10th September 2007.
This is a certified Club venue and as such everyone will have to take out an individual yearly subscription to that club. i.e. £8 for adults, £2 for pensioners (after the first year), £4 for 14 to 16 year olds and £2 under 14.
Also please note the first 10 shooting evenings will alternate 6 yards then 10 metres. The 10 metre shooting dates will be as two Squads of 4 ten-metre members from 7.30pm to 9pm and then 9pm to 1030pm. This will of course include the Lister Glos County 10 Metre Local Air Rifle Shooters.
